You do not have to be Catholic to attend Holy Family Catholic Schools. Holy Family warmly welcomes families of all faith traditions and in all stages of their faith journey.

While it's true that our schools provide an education rooted in the values and teachings of the Catholic faith, families of all backgrounds are invited to take part in our promise of educational excellence.  All students take part in opportunities to strengthen their knowledge of the Catholic faith, including weekly school Mass, theology coursework and daily prayer.

Every family has unique needs and circumstances, and tuition at Holy Family is not “one-size-fits-all.” Those who apply by the first-round April 15 application deadline will be notified of their specific tuition assistance award by mid-May.

For Example:

You may be surprised to learn that up to 90 percent of your child's tuition could be paid for through tuition assistance funding, and local grants and scholarships! Families with the greatest demonstrated need could pay as little as $33/month or $400/year.

More details about tuition assistance and scholarship opportunities as well as the universal application form can be found on our tuition assistance webpage.

There are no district assignments for Holy Family schools. Families are invited to choose the Holy Family school that they feel is the best fit for them, regardless of their address.

Transportation:

Depending on your address and available routes, Holy Family students are eligible for busing offered by Dubuque Community School District transportation.

Those who do not have a bus route available may be eligible for transportation reimbursement.

At Wahlert Catholic, our staff work to provide the tools, resources, and experiences for our students to achieve their highest potential. All students are required to complete:

  • 4 years of English courses
  • 3 years of science courses
  • 3 years of social studies courses
  • 3 years of math courses
  • 4 years of theology courses
  • 1 semester of personal finance (per state of Iowa requirements)

In addition to core coursework, Wahlert students can choose from 14 AP courses and multiple college credit opportunities available through PSEO or dual enrollment. Click here to view the Wahlert course guide.

An emphasis is placed on college and career readiness with high school coursework culminating in a senior internship. Beginning this year, Wahlert students will also enroll in a two-week January "J-Term." During J-Term, students will explore real-world learning while earning additional high school and college credits. Click here to view our 22-23 J-Term course guide.
