Resurrection Principal Denise Grant Announces Retirement
It is with sincere respect and deep appreciation I share the news that Resurrection Principal Denise Grant has announced her plan to retire at the end of the 2022-2023 school year.
Denise has truly been a gift to our Catholic schools. She has served as a Holy Family administrator since 2005 at Holy Ghost and St. Anthony before transitioning to Resurrection, where she has led for the past nine years. She is a leader who has ushered in new growth in enrollment and assisted in the building process for our new school at Resurrection. On behalf of the Holy Family community, I thank her for her leadership and commitment to Catholic education.
While Denise has announced no specific plans for her retirement, she says she is looking forward to finding out what it brings. She looks forward to spending more time with her family, including two grandchildren, possibly working part-time, volunteering, and finding more time for hobbies such as gardening, swimming and perhaps golf!
Please join me in thanking and congratulating Denise and wishing her God’s most abundant blessings in her next chapter of life!
Yours in Christ,
Phil Bormann
Chief Administrator
Message From Mrs. Grant
It has been a privilege to work alongside our dedicated administrators, teachers, staff, and priests as well as our committed parents. One highlight of my time with Holy Family has been my involvement in the building of a new Resurrection school. Very few principals have this opportunity, and I am thankful to have been a part of that adventure!
There are so many little things in a “regular” school day that I will miss. I have always looked forward to coming to work – I get hugs every day, I am shown missing teeth, I get to visit classrooms, and enjoy the camaraderie of the amazing staff at Resurrection. I have also always appreciated our dedicated and involved parents.
I value the relationships I have built at Resurrection, and that makes leaving this community even more difficult. However, with great leaders at the helm and a system that is strong and vibrant, I know that Holy Family will continue to grow and carry out its mission.
A search for Mrs. Grant’s successor will commence immediately. Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply at www.teachiowa.gov.
