Wahlert Catholic High School Announces New
Academic Innovation Coordinator

Holy Family is pleased to welcome Ms. Mariah Reeves to the Wahlert Catholic High School community as their new academic innovation coordinator, beginning on July 1.

Ms. Reeves brings a wealth of innovative programming expertise, which will help in the growth and improvement of personalized learning at Wahlert Catholic. She earned her Secondary Education degree from Coe College and has a master’s degree in PK–12 Educational Leadership with administrative license and evaluator approval from Drake University.

Before joining Holy Family, Ms. Reeves taught secondary English at Mount Vernon High School, where she designed elective courses and wrote curriculum while serving on the district’s leadership team. She served as PLC facilitator and high school representative in the development of MTSS Framework and a Standards-Based teaching and learning platform.

She brings additional experience in course and curriculum design from previous roles in the Department of English and Academic Achievement Program at Coe College as well as Cedar Rapids Prairie High School.

The new academic innovation coordinator role will replace that of assistant principal. Wahlert’s current assistant principal, Lisa Krapfl, will transition to serve as Holy Family’s curriculum director in the coming academic year.

“Ms. Reeves is a dynamic, energetic educator with a futuristic vision for what schools can look like as we move into the next decade. Her experiences in professional development, proficiency-based instruction, and student-centered learning lend to the direction we are heading in Holy Family Catholic Schools, emphasizing students first,” said Wahlert Catholic Principal Ron Meyers. “She values the opportunity to work in a faith-centered environment where she can continue her advocacy for personal values, service and community.  I am thrilled to collaboratively lead the Wahlert Catholic community with Ms. Reeves at my side.”

Please join us in warmly welcoming Ms. Mariah Reeves to the Golden Eagle family!
