Holy Family is pleased to introduce Dr. Carolyn Wiezorek as the principal at St. Anthony Elementary and Our Lady of Guadalupe. Carolyn is a 1980 Wahlert Catholic alumna. She will officially begin her new position on July 1.

Before joining the Holy Family administrative team, Carolyn taught fourth grade at Prescott Elementary and was an associate professor of education at Clarke University prior to that. She also taught kindergarten and first grade at St. Anthony Elementary from 1986 to 1992 and served as Wahlert Catholic’s head diving coach from 2012 to 2014.

Carolyn earned her Elementary Education degree from the University of Iowa. She has a master’s degree in gifted education and a doctorate in educational leadership from the University of Northern Iowa.

“Holy Family is thrilled to have Dr. Wiezorek at the helm at our St. Anthony and Our Lady of Guadalupe elementary site,” said Phil Bormann. “She brings with her an incredible background and passion for learning innovation and a collaborative approach to serving the needs of all children.”

Carolyn’s husband, Bill (’80), and their three children, Kelly (’07), Alex (’12), and Sami (’15) are also Wahlert Catholic alumni. Sami was among the first graduates of the Our Lady program. The Wiezoreks are active members of the Resurrection parish community, where Kelly and Alex attended elementary school.

Carolyn also served on the Our Lady of Guadalupe Advisory Committee from 2004 to 2012 and on the Archdiocesan Board of Education from 2012 to 2018.

Please join us in warmly welcoming Dr. Wiezorek to the Holy Family community! Stay tuned for more information about a family meet and greet to be held later this summer.

“I am excited to join the St. Anthony/Our Lady of Guadalupe community at this revolutionary time in education, and I am looking forward to contributing to the innovation occurring in the Holy Family system.  I look forward to meeting all of you!”
