School Registration Information

Along with registration for the new school year come many individual items that require your attention.  To better streamline the process for families with students at more than one Holy Family school, this central point of information will include any instructions necessary to register and prepare for the new school year at each Holy Family school.

 

School offices are open throughout the summer, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Families are welcome to stop by school offices for registration assistance at any time during those hours.  We request that families complete registration electronically by August 15. 

 

The first day of school is Wednesday, August 23.

 

1) e-Registration

2) "One Check" and Tuition Agreement Form

The electronic "One Check" form has closed. Activity fees and lunch account payments can be made individually.

 

Tuition statements have been sent individually. Please refer to the payment schedule provided with your statement to determine your first payment due date.

 

Tuition Payment Options

Holy Family Catholic Schools offers the following payment options:

  • Pay in full: Payment in full may be made by check, cash or credit card. If you pay by cash or check, you qualify for a 1 percent discount if the payment is made on or before registration day in July.
  • Semiannual: These payments are made at semester and may be made by check, cash or credit card.
  • Quarterly: Quarterly payments can be made by check, cash or credit card.
  • Monthly: Monthly payments are required to be a direct payment through electronic funds transfer (EFT). 

Holy Family Catholic Schools accepts VISA, MasterCard and Discover.

Additional Information for All Families

Uniform Apparel eStore

Uniform apparel is available for purchase through the Holy Family eStore. Samples can be viewed Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Holy Family Central Office located at 2005 Kane Street. While orders may be placed at any time throughout the year, orders must be placed by Friday, August 4, for delivery before school begins for the 2017-2018 school year. Crested uniform apparel is only required at the middle school and high school levels, but is available in all sizes K-12. Please note that Second Chances consignment shop also carries a limited selection of gently worn Holy Family apparel. Open Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Second Chances is located at 2600 Dodge St.

 

SCRIP

Scrip allows families to earn money for tuition by shopping at stores you normally visit and purchasing items you normally buy. For more information about Scrip and to sign up or place an order, click here.

 

Transportation

If you live within the Dubuque Community School District and more than two miles from your school, you will receive a letter directly from the Dubuque Community School District in August stating your child's bus route or if you will be offered reimbursement instead of a ride.  Click here to locate the optional reimbursement form for those applicable.

 

Jule City Transit

Families wishing to utilize The Jule for student transportation will need to purchase an annual youth pass. For more information, click here.

 

Nutrition Services

Click here for information about how to apply for free and reduced lunches as well as standard meal charge procedures and the medical statement for special dietary needs. 

Those applying for free and reduced lunch plans need only submit one form per family, even if your children attend more than one Holy Family school (including Early Childhood).

Holy Ghost Elementary 

  • Orientation day on Monday, August 21, provides the opportunity for families to visit with classroom teachers one-on-one to learn about curriculum information, classroom rules and procedures, special grade-level events and communication methods. Scheduling for these individual 10-minute sessions will open on August 8, in a manner similar to parent/teacher conferences. You will be contacted separately with the registration link and instructions.  Students should bring school supplies to school on orientation day.

St. Anthony Elementary and Our Lady of Guadalupe

  • Parent Association
    • You will be contacted by the Parent Association as opportunities to volunteer arise throughout the year.
    • Please note that parent association dues have increased this year. Your association dues will now cover staff Christmas gifts and Teacher Appreciation Week, and families will no longer be asked to make separate contributions at those times.
  • SchoolKids supply kits, for those who ordered, will be delivered to the child's classroom on orientation day, Monday, August 21.

St. Columbkille Elementary

  • SchoolKids Supply Kits and other items for pick up – Those who ordered SchoolKids supply kits or 2016-17 memory books may pick their orders up at the school office between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m., Monday-Friday, beginning July 24, or during registration or orientation days. Gently-used uniform apparel, St. Columbkille bank bags and extended care information will also be available at those times.

Resurrection Elementary

  • New Parent Meeting following registration on Thursday, July 27, at 5:30 p.m. in the school cafeteria (entering the building through door #2). Children are welcome and babysitting will be provided. All new Resurrection families are invited to come and learn about the school, meet one another and members of the Resurrection Parent Association. Although attending registration is not required for those who have completed their paperwork, all NEW parents are requested to attend the meeting.
  • Orientation day on Monday, August 21, provides the opportunity for families to visit with classroom teachers one-on-one to learn about the curriculum, classroom rules and procedures, special grade-level events and communication methods. Mazzuchelli Catholic

  • Orientation day for all Mazzuchelli students and parents will be held on Monday, August 21, from 8:00 to 9:30 a.m., 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. and 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Families should attend the time most convenient for them and no preliminary sign up is necessary. During orientation, students will have school pictures taken (dress code is not required for pictures), locker combinations will be assigned, and school supplies can be delivered. Families will have the opportunity to collect yearbooks and SchoolKidz Kits (for those who purchased these items in advance) purchase spirit apparel and sign up for volunteer committees.
  • 1:1 computer distribution – all students new to Mazzuchelli, including all incoming sixth-graders, will be issued Chromebooks during orientation.
  • Activities and Athletics (seventh- and eighth-graders only) – Students can sign up for Show Choir, Mock Trail, Opus Honor Choir and fall athletics (football, volleyball and boys and girls cross country) during orientation. Click here for athletics schedules and practice start dates.

  • New Immunization Requirements for incoming seventh-graders – The Iowa Department of Public Health has made changes to the Iowa Immunization law for the start of the 2017/18 school year. This change requires that all students entering the seventh grade have both a Meningococcal vaccine and a Tdap (Tetanus, Diptheria, and Pertussis/whooping cough) booster before school starts this fall. Wahlert Catholic 

  • Freshman orientation for incoming ninth-grade students will take place on Tuesday, August 22, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Students should report to the Wahlert gym in uniform and bring paper and a writing utensil. Chromebooks will not be needed. There will be a social dance for ninth-graders that afternoon from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. 
  • 1:1 Computer distribution will take place during freshman orientation for ninth-grade students new to Holy Family. Chromebooks will be available for upperclassmen new to Wahlert Catholic on Monday, August 21.
  • School photos will be taken by Siebe Studios on Tuesday, August 29.
  • Activities and Athletics– practices begin August 7, for those participating in fall athletics (football, volleyball, boys and girls cross country, boys golf and girls swimming.)
